Medical education still remains to be a dream for many in India especially the middle class due to its astronomical cost and rigorous academic competitions.
There are many international students from around the world, including America, Europe, Asia and Africa, who have made the decision to study in ukraine. This is not surprising since standard of higher education meets the same standard as in Western countries to give them an enriching foundation for their futures.
Indian students have always found the medical education at the Ukraine to be attractive due to its quality and cost. The student teacher ratio is 10:1 and individual attention is given to each and every student. It is very unique when comparing to Indian universities wherein the student –professor ratio in india is 100:1.
The admission procedure is simple, there is no entrance exams and cut-off marks, there is no reservation policy on the basis of caste or creed. The students will have to just fulfil the basic eligibility criteria. It may also be observed and noted that unlike in other universities in India and abroad, students need not appear for any entrance or prequalifying exams like CET (India), GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.
Moreover, if not through merit, a medical seat alone in India costs between Rs.50-100 lakhs, apart from the tuition/ hostel fees and other academic expenses amounting to a total of 1-2 crores. In Russia/Ukraine, it would cost as low as Rs.1.75-2.75 lakhs per year that includes tuition fee, furnished hostel accommodation, study materials, medical insurance, the year’s food and living expenses. And NO donations.
