STANTDARD OF MEDICAL EDUCATION

Ukraine is home to some of the world’s finest Medical universities. The standard of Medical Education in these countries is considered to be one of the most advanced and sophisticated in the world as every educational institution is well equipped and the teaching methods are well regulated and streamlined providing for an extensive development of students in the chosen specialties.

Students, who have earned a ukrainian medical university degree, earn a degree that is governed by a standard of higher medical education that is rated to be among the best in the world by UNESCO and WHO.

The system of higher education is well formulated, advanced and at par with the Western countries. Evaluation of the performance of students is designed in such a way that the progress of students in mastering the subjects, included in the curriculum is monitored objectively and in details. The number of tests and examinations to be taken during every academic year is strictly formulated by the Head of the institution. Medium of instruction is English.

Performance of students in tests is evaluated as “Passed” or “Failed” and in examination, as “Excellent” “Good” “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory”. Students who accumulate a number of arrears in their new academic year are dismissed from their higher educational institutions. The final state examinations are also a very important part of the higher educational assessment process. These methods constitute a comprehensive evaluation system by which the knowledge and the skills of specialists are brought to light and the qualification obtained then becomes very authentic and invaluable.

Knowledge and the practical skills, received by students, along with the international exposure in these universities, permit them to seek various opportunities in India as well as abroad.

The academic year starts from September with two semesters per academic year. Students enjoy winter and summer vacation.

POST graduation

On completion of the under graduate program, the students have the opportunity to do their Post Graduation in

INDIAN STUDENTS IN UKRAINE

Medical education still remains to be a dream for many in India especially the middle class due to its astronomical cost and rigorous academic competitions.

There are many international students from around the world, including America, Europe, Asia and Africa, who have made the decision to study in ukraine. This is not surprising since standard of higher education meets the same standard as in Western countries to give them an enriching foundation for their futures.

Indian students have always found the medical education at the Ukraine to be attractive due to its quality and cost. The student teacher ratio is 10:1 and individual attention is given to each and every student. It is very unique when comparing to Indian universities wherein the student –professor ratio in india is 100:1.

The admission procedure is simple, there is no entrance exams and cut-off marks, there is no reservation policy on the basis of caste or creed. The students will have to just fulfil the basic eligibility criteria. It may also be observed and noted that unlike in other universities in India and abroad, students need not appear for any entrance or prequalifying exams like CET (India), GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.

Moreover, if not through merit, a medical seat alone in India costs between Rs.50-100 lakhs, apart from the tuition/ hostel fees and other academic expenses amounting to a total of 1-2 crores. In Russia/Ukraine, it would cost as low as Rs.1.75-2.75 lakhs per year that includes tuition fee, furnished hostel accommodation, study materials, medical insurance, the year’s food and living expenses. And NO donations.
